What Client’s Say

Why would anyone put themselves through this?” I thought. It was the beginning of a journey that I feared I would never fulfill. Through sweat, spit, tears, while training my body through heat, cold, rain, snow, and dirt. I have bled, I have had black eyes, I have even thrown away ripped clothes. I asked for it – I wanted Billy to kick my ass – literally. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. From the mornings of below zero weather to the evenings of above 100 degrees, I was committed. This is my bootcamp inspired success story involving Billy Carroll, Grant Hill, and MyBootcamp and I am DAMN PROUD of it.

It’s been 15 months since I met with Grant Hill of MyBootcamp for my first training session, yet it feels like a lifetime ago. Working full-time and focused on growing DCeventjunkie each night, I suddenly found myself struggling with my workload and not sleeping well. I recalled a time when I was sharper and more agile — five years prior, just before moving to Washington, D.C. This town killed me with happy hours, winter clothes and events a plenty! Suddenly I was overwhelmed and wanted to regain focus and felt I could control my mental health by working on my physical health.

Being “bootcamp inspired” means more to me than just a shrinking waistline… I was able to find my confidence and get my life back on track. I’ll be the first to admit that I am one of the most stubborn people around (Yeah yeah, everyone says that, but I tend to stick to my guns). However, about a year ago, I needed to realign some life priorities. Always the athlete, I’ve been swimming competitively since I could crawl and, most recently, took up running, competing in a race here and there. As the pressures of work loomed over me, my diet would go from bad to worse as I’d stay very long hours in the office and often neglect my personal life.

I still remember how I felt when I signed up to train with MyBootcamp. It was about eight months ago. I was tired of feeling unhealthy, having very little stamina and not looking like the person I remembered being. You see, back in the day, I was proud of my appearance. And while being attractive didn’t define me, she was a person I liked being. And I missed her. So when I heard about MyBootcamp, I was fascinated… and a little terrified too.
